Enable Midstream pays the full cost of this benefit, which provides 60 percent of your weekly base pay, up to $3,000 per week, for up to 26 weeks when you miss work due to qualified illnesses and injuries.
How Short-term Disability Works:
- Your Short-term Disability leave begins on the first day you are absent because of the qualified illness or injury.
- When you apply for Short-term Disability due to illness, there is a seven-day waiting period before your benefits can be paid. If you do not have enough sick time to cover the work days in your seven-day waiting period, your available vacation time or other available paid leave will be used. Any remaining portion of the waiting period will be considered approved leave without pay. For disability due to injury, benefits begin the day after your injury.
- Your available sick and other paid leave is used to cover the beginning of your Short-term Disability leave. Once you use all of your available leave time, your Short-term Disability benefit begins.
Short-term Disability leaves run concurrently with Family and Medical Leave Act qualifying leaves.
Long-term Disability (LTD)
Enable Midstream pays the full cost of this benefit, which pays 60 percent of your base monthly pay tax-free if you become disabled, up to a monthly maximum of $12,000.
The Long-term Disability plan provided by Prudential pays benefits for an eligible disability that lasts more than 180 days.
If you are receiving Short-term Disability and become eligible for Long-term Disability, our provider will initiate that transition for you. You will be contacted by a Long-term Disability claims specialist during this transition.
